How it works

From meeting to every feed in five minutes

  1. Sign up. A board staffer or member picks their board, lists the accounts it posts to, and gets an access code. We approve each board before it can publish.
  2. Add your meetings. Official City Record hearing notices show up automatically. Add your full board and committee meetings in the portal so the calendar is complete.
  3. After a meeting, paste the notes. Minutes, notes, an agenda, a newsletter link or a text file. BoardCast pulls out decisions, votes and upcoming events and writes a post for each platform, sized to its limits.
  4. Review, then publish or schedule. Edit anything, then publish to connected accounts in one click. Platforms that aren't connected get a one-tap share link plus a ready-made image.
  5. Or put it on autopilot. Autopilot posts a reminder a few days before each meeting and turns new newsletter or minutes items from your RSS feed into recap posts. You choose whether it publishes on its own or just leaves drafts.

Every post says it was automated

Community boards are public bodies, so residents should always know when a post was published by software. BoardCast adds a disclosure to the end of every post at the moment it's published, outside the text boards can edit, so it can't be removed. It links back to the board's BoardCast page, which shows the source each post was drafted from. Images for Instagram, TikTok and Facebook carry an "Auto-published with BoardCast" banner too.

Connecting accounts

Direct publishing uses each platform's official API: the X API, Meta's Graph API for Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts, LinkedIn's Posts API for organization pages, and TikTok's Content Posting API. Each board authorizes its own accounts, and BoardCast keeps those tokens in encrypted server environment settings, never in the database. Until an account is connected, BoardCast gives you a one-tap share link and a download-ready image instead.
